It all started in a small home kitchen that had been baking durian cakes for the last 40 years. There was no fancy pastry training behind it, just a deep love for durian that came from growing up in a family that has traded the fruit for more than 50 years. When the 40-year-old recipe was passed down, the goal was never to change it but only to modernise it so more people could enjoy it.

Every cake created we create is a love letter to the fruit itself. A tribute shaped by sincere passion and meticulous craft. Working with durian is tricky as dabbling with fruits can be unpredictable and fickle at times, requiring patience and careful attention to every nuance.

Truth is, durian cakes can’t be freshly baked

It takes days and months of planning to make a single durian cake. Infusing Madagascar vanilla pods into the Chantilly cream helps introduce natural vanillin compounds that smooth the flavour profile and balance the durian’s stronger aromatics. Only the best-quality Mao Shan Wang durians of the season are used , freshly harvested fruit of sub-par quality is never an option. Our creations embody purpose, respect, and deep understanding of the king of fruits. True durian craftsmanship, intentional and authentic, born from a family devoted to the king of fruits.
